Please tell me that mini chocolate bar hell is over. Did ANYONE abstain from Halloween candy? Seriously?
If it is in my house I eat it. I think about it constantly. I wake up in the morning and want a Coffee Crisp. And the crappy thing about having that much crap in the house is that you can do the sweet/salty thing over and over and over. Chocolate bar, mini bag of chips, chocolate bar, shot of vodka…
The worst thing about eating crap is that it sets you up to eat more crap. The sugar highs and crashes create cravings that put you on a roller coaster until you recommit to eating well. And once you make sure you’re eating all of your meals, clean food every three hours, you don’t crave the crap. You look at it, and walk away.
Because it’s not magic. It’s chemistry. Every craving is created by what you are doing with your body. Some of them are psychological, some are physical. None of them are statements about who you are as a person, none define you as a success or failure.
Living well just means that you start again. And start again. Over and over and over. You acknowledge the problem. You forgive. You remain flexible. You accept failure. You fix the problem and start again.
